INTRODUCTION
In July 2016, the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (the Committee) will examine Myanmar’s combined fourth and fifth periodic report at its 64th session.1 This examination provides an opportunity to review Myanmar’s progress since its last review in 2008 towards implementing in law and practice the provisions of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (the Convention).
