The subject is irritating,\u00a0especially to women; and it is not new. Enough ink has been spilled in quarrelling over \u00a0feminism, and perhaps we should say no more about it. It is still talked about, however, for\u00a0the voluminous nonsense uttered during the last century seems to have done little to<\/p>\n<p>illuminate the problem. After all, is there a problem? And if so, what is it? Are there women,\u00a0really? Most assuredly the theory of the eternal feminine still has its adherents who will\u00a0whisper in your ear: \u2018Even in Russia women still are women\u2019; and other erudite persons \u2013\u00a0sometimes the very same \u2013 say with a sigh: \u2018Woman is losing her way, woman is lost.\u2019 One wonders if women still exist, if they will always exist, whether or not it is desirable that they\u00a0should, what place they occupy in this world, what their place should be. \u2018What has become \u00a0of women?\u2019 was asked recently in an ephemeral magazine.<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/burmesewomensunion.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Second-Sex.pdf\" class=\"sc-button sc-button-default\" target=\"_blank\"><span>Download<\/span><\/a>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Introduction For a long time I have hesitated to write a book on woman.
